Urgent Needs

In 1996 Don found out that his kidneys were leaking protein. His family was shocked emotionally. This health problem has made him unable to work a full time job. Don's kidneys were functioning less and shrinking. He was put on a special diet.

In 2000 his doctors decided to put him on Hemo Dialysis. He goes to the dialysis center three times a week. The procedure drains his energy. He feels week, sleeps a lot and it has effected his mood. At this present time he is taking 13 different medicines some of them he has to take 3 or 4 times a day. Most of his medication is name brand because he body will not accept generic which has put a financial strain on his family. Don has had over five surgeries. Most of his surgeries were to replace the stints in his arm that are used for filtering his blood in the dialysis machine.

Don's hobbies were fishing, hunting, and working on old cars. After his diagnosis he has been unable to do the hobbies that he enjoys. If he wants to go fishing he must have someone go with him. But as time passes he is unable to enjoy fishing. He use to work at a local stock car race track on Saturday nights but it was just to much for his body to handle
